High school Exchange Program in Germany Overview
This program is available for exchange students from EFTA countries, USA, Canada, Japan and EU. Students will be able to go for regular classes in a Germany school. Public High Schools in Germany
Enrolling in this program will see you go through the different categories of secondary education available in Germany. There is the Hauptschule that will provide you with knowledge based in vocation. This category comes to an end in the 9th or 10th grade. Gymnasium is the other category; it is a kind of prep track and students take an exam that allows them to proceed to university. This category goes on until the 13th grade. These prices do not include the international airfare, application fees which is 65 Euros, personal expenses, extra language courses, school materials, medical exam fees and visa fees.
There are six stages that your application has to go through:
- The first stage is an interview which takes place with your family.
- The second stage is where you fill an application and return it with your documents
- Once the application has been received, you will be given a formal acceptance which will be communicated to you.
- The fourth stage involves the arrangement of your placement.
- Once this is done, the arrangement for you to get a visa is done.
- Lastly you choose the kind of travel arrangements that you want.
